Bunyara Run 2022

Bunyarra Run Held on 26 June 2022

On a perfect Winters Day (ignoring the downpour around 2.00pm) about 100 members, and 40 plus cars, attended the annual Bunyarra Run at John and Bronny’s property near Alawoona.

Under the organisation of Barry, Loxton members hosted the event, with plenty of snags and Nangari hamburgers and a wide array of salads and wonderful home-made desserts brought by members, to finish off a great meal.

Barry had games ready to go – Pigs in the Wagon Wheel, Water Pumps in the Picking Bucket, Lassoing the Cow to name a few. The biggest difference in points scoring was when the “Flying Pigs” hit the Wagon Wheel. Lawrie scored 35 points with some scoring less than 5 points.

Horse Shoe and Ping Pong were the hardest to score. Two very talented people scored 10/10 with the Horse Shoe. They were Derrick and Steve. Many other people scored 10/10 in the other events including Water Pumps, Oranges, Pumpkins and Lassoing the Cow.

All fun activities for members, with Steve ultimately winning the coveted Bunyarra Run Cup with a score of 86 points. Honourable mentions go to Ian (72 points), Jeff (71 points), Lawrie (71 points), Derrick (70 points) and Dean (70 points).

With jellybeans scarce, Barry had to make do with “guess how many smarties” are in the jar. An outstanding effort by Carolyn who guessed 1272 from 1283.

A great day to cement old friendships and make new friends.

Enjoyed by all. Put it on your calendar for next year.
