Oh no! what was I thinking scheduling a club ride on October 8!
It’s Bathurst 1000 weekend, the holy grail of Australian Motor sport, no one will come, they’ll all be glued to the screen and a cold one!
But I was wrong (again) with seven bikes (and riders!) lined up in Berri. We decided to do the ‘”Winkie / Loveday” Run which eventually brings us out crossing the Sturt Highway before a clockwise ride around the lake where a view and a good coffee in Barmera was the order of the day!
It’s always a treat to see and hear Paul’s Triumph Triple T160, making glorious music, accompanied by Chris’s Ariel square four which sounds better every ride!
Of all our members, none is more welcome than our senior “ambassador” Merv, who at 93 yrs young is still enjoying riding his Moto Gp replica 125 Cagiva!
Now for a bit of news, it’s come to our attention that a certain member has had a shed clearout, selling two bikes before purchasing a very nice late model Hinckley Bonneville! Yep, you guessed it, Allan has finally bought himself a nice newish trouble-free machine to ride, and he seems to be a very happy chappie!
Great weather and good company made for a great afternoon out, doing what we love, riding motorcycles!
