March 2024 Motorcycle Run

Held on 3 March 204

Eight riders and two pillions gathered at Berri for the first RVCCC motorcycle run of the New Year.

The day was perfect for the ride and we were all looking forward to blowing the dust off of the bikes and having a chat and and checking out the bikes, especially a couple of new acquisitions. Recently acquired bikes were proudly shown by Paul and Janine, a very nice 2008 T100 Triumph, and Barry who brought his recently acquired Royal Enfield 650. These Royal Enfields are certainly gaining in popularity with owners being very happy with the bikes.

Unfortunately, our visitors from Waikerie, David and Lindsay, had to return home and missed the ride as David had a minor slip at a service station on the way to Berri which broke a clutch lever and he didn’t trust it to last the length of the ride.

Sergeant Major Kev called the meeting to order, welcomed everybody and explained the route we would be taking and led the convoy from Berri, along Old Sturt highway then turning off to explore the back roads through Winkie and Loveday eventually re-joining the highway at Barmera and heading back to Berri.

We then took the Loxton Road, turning off at Gurra Rd, which is always a favourite for the riders, and ending up at the Lyrup Club for refreshments and a bit of a chat.

The Lyrup Club is always very welcoming with friendly staff and a relaxing atmosphere. Coffee is good if you’re that way inclined, plenty of cold drink choice as well!! After refreshments everybody made their way back home. It was a perfect afternoon for the ride and I’m sure it was well enjoyed by all participants.
