The weather Gods were very kind making a great fun day travelling in convoy to Swan Reach via Waikerie.
We gathered at the Barmera Yacht club at 9.00 with 18 cars ready for the trip.
From there we travelled along the Sturt Highway to the Lions shed at Waikerie which has lately become one of our haunts.
At Waikerie Ed gave out some quiz questions to pass the time travelling to Swan Reach.
Leon planned a tour down along the river using the same route WOW used three years ago. On route we passed an amazing number of apple orchards. Some of the group chose a shorter route to allow some difference in the speed people wanted to travel at, so we all arrived at Swan Rech at about the same time.
Swan Reach Hotel put on a magnificent lunch at reasonable cost with an unbelievable view across the Mighty Murray. Unfortunately, all my pre booking of meals failed because the hotel internet was down, and no info got through. Tammy’s effort in booking everyone’s meals worked well, and we quickly got our delicious food.
The day finished with a free to enter raffle with the prize being free Christmas dinner at the club.
Winners were Rob, Helen, Bob, Allan and Julia.
Further frivolity was provided by free Iris plants!
All in all, a great day!
