September Ride held on 11 September 2022
After meeting with the other Renmark riders, we headed to Berri, navigating our way through the hectic Sturt Highway roundabout construction site and almost made it to Berri!
I say almost as our serial breakdown specialist Allan was at it again, this time at the Berri OTR servo roundabout, where we enjoyed a brief stop while he hunted for signs of life under the seat of his Triumph!
With three riders waiting patiently at Berri we enjoyed a chat with our Waikerie members, Lindsay and David.
We discussed the club’s constitutional change allowing vehicles 25 or more years old to enjoy the concessional registration benefits, and the irony that our Waikerie guys large and modern Gold Wing and ST 1100 bikes now qualify!
The route chosen was Gurra Road through Lyrup, onto Stanitski Road and then Gordon Road, allowing a nice run down Booky Hill and back into Berri’s ‘River Jacks’ Cafe for a coffee stop.
A few coffees later we all headed to Barmera via a very meandering route through Winkie and Loveday led by our intrepid navigator Allan!
More chatting on the lakefront before it was time for us all to go our separate ways!
